Overview

Based in Hopkinton, Massachusetts (USA), Hy9 Corporation designs, manufactures and sells high purity planar membrane purifiers and hydrocarbon fueled hydrogen generators to customers who require reliable, high purity hydrogen on-demand. Hy9’s systems are applied in a variety of applications, work well with a wide variety of fuels and hydrogen sources, and are used in laboratory hydrogen generators, portable power for the military and first responders, stationary backup power systems for telecommunications and fuel for hydrogen powered vehicles, for example.

Providing Competitively Priced High Purity Hydrogen Solutions for Industrial Gas Customers

Purifiers for Laboratory Hydrogen Generators - Hy9’s hydrogen purification systems are used to purify hydrogen within laboratory gas generators which are a source of carrier gas for gas chromatography and as the fuel source for flame ionization detectors. Hy9’s purifiers are integrated with electrolysis generators to remove impurities and produce greater than 99.9999% pure hydrogen.

Purifiers for Industrial Gas Applications – Hy9’s hydrogen purifiers are used for upgrading hydrogen purity in a variety of industrial gas applications. Today’s hydrogen pricing, driven by increasing costs of production and delivery, has created a financial incentive for hydrogen consuming industries to consider recovery and recycling in order to reduce costs and improve the efficiency of operations.  A hydrogen recovery and recycling device can efficiently and cost effectively recover and recycle hydrogen creating an opportunity to return significant value to operations. Hy9 HPS purifiers within these systems ensure the hydrogen recovered is of a purity greater than 99.9999%. In industrial markets, these systems are used for recycling of hydrogen used for cooling of electric power generators, glass and semiconductor manufacture and metal treating.  These economical and scalable HPS purifiers are presently available for applications requiring hydrogen capacities ranging from 100 cc/min. to 2,000 scfh.

Enabling PEM Fuel Cells to Run Reliably and Cost Effectively With Available Fuels

Purifiers and Fuel Processors for Portable Power – Hy9 provides purifiers and fuel processors for portable power applications ranging in size from 20 watts up 250 watts. Hy9’s purifiers and fuel processing systems are designed to be lightweight and low cost, meeting the high performance standard for military and commercial applications.

Purifiers and Hydrogen Generators for Stationary Backup Power Systems –  Hy9 HGS series of hydrogen generators are designed for PEM fuel cell backup power applications requiring extended runtime hydrogen supply. The HGS series generators are an ideal choice for standby or primary fuel cell power applications in remote areas with no or unreliable grid power.

Purifiers and Hydrogen Generators for Mobile & Transportation Applications - Hydrogen vehicle fueling stations incorporating Hy9 HGS series hydrogen generators produce ultra pure hydrogen on demand for less than delivered compressed hydrogen gas. At approximately $18.00 per kilogram, hydrogen tube trailers are a very expensive alternative.

In energy and transportation markets, Hy9's purifiers and HGS series hydrogen generators are used in power generation, combined heat and power, backup power, vehicle refueling and powering fork lift trucks.
